Binge eating disorder is a subset of anorexia. It is characterized by the inability to control oneself when eating. Binge eating means that one eats an abundance of food without stopping or feeling full.
Signs of binge eating include, but are not limited to, uncontrollable eating habits and secretly eating alone.
Bulimia involves eating followed by vomiting. Those who suffer from bulimia often over use laxatives to pass their food as well as exercise extensively. It is often hard to detect bulimia because individuals usually vomit alone.
Some possible signs of bulimia are broken eye vessels and constant changes in weight.
Anorexia is a psychological and possibly life threatening eating disorder defined by extremely low body weight, self-esteem, self starvation and excessive weight loss.
Some signs of anorexia include compulsive behaviors such as the constant counting of calories, utilizing small meal plates and cutting food multiple times, and continued dieting.
